Foster Youth Christmas

The Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee is heading up a community effort to provide Christmas gifts to Foster Youth in Group Homes. Without the help of community support, these children would not have a gift under the tree to open up on Christmas morning.

We are counting on community support from people like YOU to make sure we can reach as many children as possible this year.

Let's provide an amazing Christmas experience for those Foster Youth!

If you have questions, please contact Andi Pettyjohn at andi@wttaz.com or 602-402-6267.  Thank you for helping us make Christmas better for foster kids!!

As with Thanksgiving, children in foster homes do not get the home Christmas we are used to. Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee in 2014 adopted 9 foster homes with 7-12 teens each. Each child received socks, underwear, pants, shirts, a sweatshirt or jacket, movie tickets, and a $25 gift card to spend.

While this may not seem like typical Christmas gifts, the children are very grateful to receive them. Every year Kiwanis hosts a wrapping party to wrap these donated gifts before they are delivered to the home.
