The Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee partners with the Camelback Kiwanis to provide a camp experience weekend for underprivileged children in the cool pines outside of Prescott.
Elementary age children are taken by bus to the camp on Saturday morning by school officials. The school also provides chaperones, so we’re not “babysitting”. The kids are divided into groups and separated in a revolving method for different projects/activities including woodworking, Team Challenge (obstacle course stuff ), archery, hiking, and arts & crafts. After dinner there are campfire songs, smores and stargazing with an astrology club from Prescott.
